About Me
Hello families! My name is Brittany and I am young, energetic, and professional university student (graduating in May 2015) with years of experience in both professional and home child care. I am born and raised in Toronto, ONT., but attended university in Montreal, PQ, which means I can speak a small amount of french. I have worked as a babysitter, tutor and as an ECA (educational assistant) at a registered daycare for the past almost 5 years (which means I am great at time management, and at taking care of MANY children at once!) I have worked with children from all races, religions, ages, and walks of life. I have worked with children with many intellectual and mental disabilities, including ADHD and Autism. I would LOVE to enrich your child(ren)'s lives while you are working/unavailable, and make sure that my experience as their caregiver is one full of love, compassion, exciting/fun experiences and intellectual development (no sitting around and watching TV all day with me as your child's caregiver!) In terms of my education experience: I am currently in my final months as an undergraduate student, majoring in both psychology and gender in religion (which has made me an extremely understanding, accepting, and open minded individual). I have also applied to OISE (University of Toronto's school of Education) and am hoping to begin my graduate studies there, where I have applied to receive my Masters in Child Studies and Education. I hope to one day become an elementary school teacher, or a special needs teacher for junior school aged children. Thanks for your time, and hope to meet you and your families soon! (Resume and References available upon request; and I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have)
