I am a twenty seven year old woman with a Bachelors in Musical Theater and Playwriting with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I have six years of professional experience as as nanny as well as over thirteen years of experience as a casual babysitter.
I am very focused on the arts and creativity and believe very strongly in creative play as a learning tool. I l incorporate music, dance, and acting into my activities, as well as writing and art. I have written and staged a play with the children under my care as well as several neighborhood children. The production was entirely conceived by the children and they took part in every aspect of the production, including costuming, choreography, and song selection. The show was performed for the neighborhood parents, siblings, and grandparents and is still something the children will write to me about. I have also initiated projects that include: writing and filming their own movie, writing and illustrating children's books, and large, functional dollhouses made out of recycling. I don't believe in letting TV and video games entertain and will always take an active and hands on in all play and education.
I am no stranger to cooking and housework and am always willing to cook, clean, and run errands for a family. I believe strongly in outings and have taken as many as six children at a time on trips to parks and museums while riding the bus. My stance on discipline is strict but fair, and I am always direct and open with children about what is expected of them and the consequences of misbehavior.
