About Me
Hi there! If you are pregnant or in the early weeks of postpartum, then you have hit the right profile! I am a DONA trained birth and postpartum doula and a trained ICEA Childbirth Educator. With that said, I am looking to nanny a family with fairly young children (infants and toddlers). I love working with children and building friendships with new families as a whole. I believe that a calling of mine is to serve others, and I believe that being a nanny is a wonderful way to live out that calling in the midst of working towards my future. I have completed my first year in Nursing at Douglas College. My short term (4-5 year) goal is to become a midwife. I have 9 years of experience in childcare in which I have worked with children of all different personalities, strengths and abilities. I truly think that the way children are cared for and nurtured through each stage in their life impacts later years. As a nanny, I think that it is very important to know your boundaries and to not over step them. I love playing with kids, laughing, and making memories with them, doing whatever they wish to do. I love challenging kids and watching them grow. I am most certainly willing to cook and bake with/ for them, as I really enjoy doing that for my own family. In my past experience, I have never gone against how the parents decided to raise their children. I respect that I may not have the same views as them on certain things, but I come to families with a non-judgmental approach. How they raise their family is their business; I am only here for a short time in their lives, they are there forever. On a side-note, I do have my own Doula business, and if you are interested in my services as your birth or postpartum doula, my website is www.gracefullilydoula.com If you feel like my experience and personality matches what you are looking for, I'd love to hear from you! -Emma
