My name is Alexandra; I am 23 years old (turning 24 in January). I am from Barrie, but I am living in North Bay for weeks at a time for the Consecutive Bachelor of Education program here at Nipissing. I often head back to Barrie for my practicum placement, therefore my availability will depend on my schedule (which we can discuss together).
I have several years experience in babysitting. I have babysat infants and older children up to 12 years of age. I can change diapers, feed bottles, put children/babies to sleep, give baths and make meals. I am in the Nipissing program to become a teacher for the primary/junior sections, so this is the age of children that I am most comfortable with and enjoy.
I also spent the past 16 months in South Korea teaching Kindergarten and Elementary children English as a Second Language. This was a very exciting opportunity and taught me lots about myself and strengthened my love for children.
I can play the piano and gave piano lessons to two young children in the past (I have my Grade 8 RCMP and Grade 2 Theory). I like swimming, biking, hiking, reading, writing, gardening, jogging, boating, dancing, teaching, singing, watching movies, doing crafts, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
I am extremely friendly and positive and I am eager to continue working with children. For my practicum I am in a Grade 1/2 split classroom, and so my experience with children keeps growing. I am excited to meet you and your family.
