My name is Kaitlin, I am 18 years old and I grew up in Oakville, Ontario. I graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School with honours and I am now studying Kinesiology at Western University. I am very friendly, positive, outgoing, and patient. I have coached, mentored new coaches, and worked with children at The Oakville Gymnastics Club for 4 years at recreational and competitive levels. I am a Certified National Gymnastics Coach. I have completed CPR/AED Training Certification Course from Canadian Red Cross (including Level A and Emergency Level C). I have also completed a Certification course on Risk Management parts A and B from Gymnastics Ontario. During my years at Oakville Gymnastics, I have gained extensive experience with children ages 1-12 years old. When I started as a coach there were several children who were not enjoying classes. By the time the season was over the children were sad to leave my class and gave me letters of appreciation. I am often requested by the parents of the children to coach them for following sessions because of the warm and nurturing environment I provide for their child.
Working with children has always been my passion. I often babysit for my family and neighbours and the children love the time we spend together. I am half Chinese and half Maltese. I am very close to my younger sister who is 16 years old and I have a very good relationship with my parents. I love pets, especially dogs. I love to swim and go for walks: I exercise almost every day and believe in living a healthy lifestyle all around. I am very interested in sports, and love any kind of physical activity. In my spare time I also enjoy to bake and cook. I am very flexible in my working hours. I am situated around central Oakville so I would be able to get to the house fairly quickly if needed. I am a very organised person; I love to clean and keep my space neat. I am also very time efficient and great at multi-tasking. I like to keep busy, so I tend to wake up earlier in the morning and try to make the most out of my day.
I love arts and crafts and I am very creative: I ran the arts and crafts programs at The Oakville Gymnastics Club last year during their summer camp programs. I organized the activities in a flexible manner, in order for the kids to be able replicate the craft at home if they wished. I am looking in perusing a future career in sports and recreation for children. I believe it is important for children to be active from a young age as it sets the stage for a happy, and healthy life. I have studied childhood development this year in school, along with my numerous childcare courses that came along with my coaching training. My prior experiences with children have proven a nanny position is well suited for me. I strongly believe that I will be an important and reliable asset to your family.
