About Me
Hello parents, caregivers, and families (and hi to you too kids!), My name is Emma, I'm 19 years old, and although that doesn't sound like a lot of time to gain experience in the field of child care however, in my case I have been fortunate enough to have three important experiences. Having a younger sister, babysitting for neighbourhood children, and being a summer camp counsellor at an all girls camp. Each of these experiences has helped in forming who I am today. An independent young women, who knows what she wants later in life, and who has helped other young women achieve confidence and success. I was about 5 years old when my younger sister was born and as I grew older I was given more responsibility by my parents in regard to helping out with my sister and around the house. This lifelong experience of gaining responsibilities at a young age has helped me immensely throughout my life so far. I began babysitting when I was about 11 years old and over the course of 7 years I babysat kids in the age range from 2 - 12. I was in change of feeding them, playing with them, putting them to bed, caring for the family pet (at times), and making sure that the kid's were well. This experience of being in change of kid's who were not my sibling prepared me for my future job as a summer camp counsellor. In my experience as a summer camp counsellor, in my second year on the job I was promoted to the leadership counsellor. In that capacity I met 14 young women who, through my guidance and aid, became counsellors at the same camp where I trained them. If you've actually read until now, thank you. Maybe you've learned something about me, maybe you haven't. To summarize if you haven't read: I love spending time with children, and will care for your children so they feel safe, have fun, and feel loved while I'm there. I truly hope you consider me when thinking about who to choose to care for your child. Thank you so much for you time, Emma
