I am a fun loving and caring nanny with over 10 years of experience in childcare. Being a nanny to me is a well-rounded position where I will provide love, care, attention, learning opportunities, and of course fun for your children. I love being around children and caring for them is something that comes naturally to me. To me child care is just that – caring for a child and making sure they have the best experience possible when in my care and also that the family/parents have the best experience possible.
Physical activity is something I am big on and I love to engage children with activities like arts and crafts, reading, physical activities, and especially playing outside. I believe that fresh air does wonders for children. I also like going out to playgrounds, libraries, parks, beaches, zoos, and basically any other type of fun excursion we can conjure up. I am a bit old fashion as I do not believe in children watching tv or using electronics as a sole source of entertainment. Of course on sick days or when the unpredictable Calgary weather hits we can pop in a movie and cuddle up on the couch :).
Education is something that is important and I would of course be willing to help your children with reading or homework. I also believe that anything can be a learning opportunity for a child by turning everyday things like baking or going to the grocery store an area they can help out in. Something as simple as letting a child measure out cups of flour for cookies or finding 4 yellow bananas at the grocer can teach them things in a fun and interactive way.
I’m known to my friends and family as a bit of a neat freak and you will quite likely find me naturally tidying your place too haha. I’ve also been known as an excellent cook and have experience in cooking with dietary needs such as gluten free, dairy free, organic eating, and to those who are health conscious
I have experience with children 4 months - 14 years old and also have experience in caring for children with behavioral conditions such as ADHD. I am First Aid and CPR certified as well as have a clean driving record. References from my current and previous families are of course available upon your request.
