About Me
My name is Aliya and I am currently attending Carleton University enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in Law program. The majority of my work experience has involved working with youth and children, for example, I am a youth leader for students between grades 6 and 12. In the Summer of 2014 I led a children's day camp for Elementary aged children called VBS. VBS challenged me to find ways to teach the young campers lessons in a way that they would be able to resonate and understand, but still find fun. In that same summer I had an opportunity to work with children in Los Angeles' projects. While working with those children I gained insight into how important it is to be able to relate to a child in order for them to feel comfortable with you, something that was especially important for children such as those living in the projects, but is applicable to all children. My experiences working with children have not only allowed me to develop my own creativity skills, so that I could provide educational but fun activities for children, but they have also allowed me to develop leadership skills so that I could positively and effectively lead children in the right direction. I have a passion for working with young people and being a good influence on them. In addition to my experience and passion for working with children, I am also a very clean, organized, and punctual person.
