About Me
I am a full-time student and have just finished my first year in the Program of Health Studies at the University of Western Ontario. I have a keen interest in healthy, active living and am an avid runner, yogi, and competitive rower with the university's junior varsity team. Following my undergraduate program, I aim to earn my medical degree or pursue a career in surgical nursing, and have an interest in conducting research concerning Alzheimer's disease and autism.
I have six years of experience working with children from ages 3 - 12 as a volunteer camp counsellor with Glenhyrst Art Galleries Summer Art Studios, and have additional volunteer experience with the public though the Brantford General Hospital, Alzheimer's Society of Brant, and as a Link Leader throughout my high school career. Additionally, I served as the Schools Liaison Coordinator for the "Lost in Time" Children's Conference by my high school program as a Grade 12 student. I also have three younger siblings whom I have been responsible for babysitting for almost 10 years.
I am organized, responsible, punctual, and have the ability to lead in a professional and friendly manner. I am certified in First Aid & CPR, Level C with additional AED training, and as the eldest of four children am naturally very cautious and have an inherently maternal nature. I am also highly creative with regards to providing activities such as arts and crafts, imaginative games, and reading picture books aloud.
